Sant Francesc Xavier is the capital of Formentera
Here you will find the parish church the town's most important landmark. It was built to be a fortress as well as the house of god.
In Sant Francesc you will find a great selection of small boutiques, with an amazing selection of clothing, interior decorations and jewllery. From spring to fall there are small markets on the street, offering handmade goods, jewlery and leather items from Formentera. On Tuesdays and Saturday in the squere behind the church you can expect to find a larger market selling second hand goods, books, clothes and other items.
